I am an integrative biologist and ecologist broadly interested in eco-evolutionary dynamics and rapid phenotypic responses to changing environments in amphibians and reptiles. My research explores the mechanistic underpinnings of physiological and morphological changes within and among populations.
Graduate Students

Carrie Alfonso
Carrie joined the lab in Spring 2025 to work towards her M.S. in Biology. Carrie joins us from Miami, FL, where she graduated from Florida International University. She is interested in immune function and host-parasite dynamics in reptiles, and she will be exploring variation in parasite communities among watersnake populations and investigating the physiological consequences of this variation.
Undergraduate Students
Marie Evans is a Senior in the Biology Department at UALR. She is interested in ecology and evolution, and she is currently exploring immune function and stress in brown anoles from Florida.
